With 30 years of commercial experience, Ian has overall responsibility for the group's outreach program, customer experience and business integration.

If he's not driving his teenage sons to activities, he can be found at the gym, on his bike or drinking a green tea at his local cafe.

Brad Phelan, Co-owner and Partner of Simple Accounting Group

Brad Phelan

Co-owner & Partner

CPA, Registered Tax Agent
brad.p@baysideadvisory.com.au

Brad is a registered tax agent and Certified Practising Accountant with over 19 years of experience in private practice and accounting roles. His career began as a graduate at the ATO before he moved to a mid-tier firm, where he spent the next 16 years specialising in small to medium business tax and advisory.

Before joining Bayside Advisory, Brad was Chief Financial Officer of an international retail company, giving him direct exposure to the day-to-day issues a business faces as it grows from a family business into a high-growth international one.

At over 2 metres tall, or 6 foot 8 in the old scale, Brad is head and shoulders above your average accountant. He has played football and basketball at a competitive level and still plays basketball semi-competitively. As a local, he can often be found supervising his children at a bayside basketball court or playground.

Samuel Rees, General Manager of Simple Accounting Group

Samuel Rees

General Manager

B.Com. (Econ)
sam@simpleaccounting.com.au

Samuel completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Economics) at Deakin University and now leads mergers and acquisitions for Simple Accounting Group. He works closely with accountants who are planning to retire, guiding them through the sale of their practice and making sure their team and clients are looked after at every step of the transition.

He also helps set the direction of the group, from bringing new firms on board to finding offices and growing the team, so each business can stay focused on its clients.

Away from the office, Samuel is either at the gym chasing a new personal best or at home tending to an ever-expanding indoor jungle.
